Join the Southwest Senior Class of 2021 for a prom under the stars at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Come dance the night away with your friends, enjoy desserts and beverages, and have your portrait taken by photographer Mike Levad. Goodie bags and prizes too!  SPACE IS LIMITED. Buy your ticket today!

The dance is OUTSIDE in the grassy park and on the patio behind the Institute. Tents will be in place in case of inclement weather.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, this event is for seniors of Southwest High School only or their Junior guests. Students who are NOT Southwest seniors or Junior guests will not be admitted to event, and ticket charge will be forfeited by purchaser. All ticket purchases will be verified. Tickets can not be transferred between students or resold. Students from other schools, regardless of grade, will not be admitted. Student ID or other form of identification is required at entry.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

3:30–4:30 Meet your friends at the Walker Sculpture Garden for photos. Will teachers show up in their prom finery? Come and find out!

4:30–6:30 Dinner on your own. Reservations strongly recommended!

7–10 pm Arrive at Mia, enter through 3rd Avenue entrance. Must have ticket and identification to gain entry!

Parking at the event: Free on-street parking may be available, first come, first served. However, some areas are for two hours only. Please pay attention to street signs. Parking in the MIA ramp on 3rd Avenue is $5/first hour, $1 for every additional hour (subject to change - please note rates upon arrival). 

Entry only through 3rd Avenue main entrance. Electronic ticket must be shown at the door for entrance. Student ID or other form of identification is required at entry. No re-entry. Emergency contact must be provided at time of ticket purchase. If ticket holder shows signs of substance use, emergency contact will be notified and ticket holder must be picked up immediately. Only small handheld purses allowed. Southwest High School Prom Waiver
Students younger than 18 at time of event must submit a waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Email prior to event to [email protected] or hand in at front door of prom.

I hereby release and agree to hold The School and organizers of event harmless from, and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage or loss to myself and/or property that may be caused by any act, or failure to act of the School or organizers of the event. I understand that this release discharges the School or organizers of the event from any liability or claim that I, my heirs, or any personal representatives may have with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, or property damage that may arise from, or in connection to, attendance at this event. This liability waiver and release extends to the School together with all owners, partners, and employees.
Protect yourself and others. Students are strongly encouraged to receive a (negative) COVID test within 72 hours of the event. Thorough COVID-19 protocols will be in place throughout event, but ticket holder acknowledges that there is no guarantee ticket holder will not become infected with COVID-19 at the event.  Ticket holder understands that the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by COVID-19 may result from ticketholder's actions, omissions, or negligence of ticket holder and others, including but not limited to all guests, volunteers and staff at event. Ticket holder must comply with all set procedures to reduce COVID exposure. Ticket holder will not attend event if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeating shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell. Ticket holder will not have traveled internationally within the last 14 days. 
Ticket holder acknowledges their photo may be taken at event and could be posted on social media.
